Former Champions of MOF’s 11s Division II in Season 4 Team Superheroes, currently holding a commanding lead in 11s Sunshine League Division II, faced Division I side West G on opening day of the MOF 11s Sunshine Cup.
West G had their comfortable position on 2nd in Division I compromised when fellow teams Torpedo Rovers FC and Fajar Youngsters won their games on Sunday. Starting off well in the Division initially, WES had seen a slight dip of form recently. Their less-than-desired bad runs were compounded by a well composed TSH.
Attempting their first double in the MOF 11s Weekend Leagues, TSH was unforgiving and exposed the lapses of the WES team. Only comforted by a brace of goals, WES saw their fort breached a total of six times in the game. The eventual score of 6-2 went to TSH’s favour as they made progress in the inaugural Cup competition.
With this defeat, WES have now the league back on on their radar. With a suit of 4-5 teams closely positioned in the leading pack, they must seek to forget the loss and hope to improve in the coming weeks ahead.
TSH will present a real threat to those who eye the Cup, especially when winning a double in the MOF 11s League is a tough and challenging feat that is not easily achieved; one that is currently only accomplished by the reigning MOF 11s Sunday League Division I Champions Happy Feet United in Season 4.
