Team Refugees, after a shaky start to the new season of the which included a luckless 1-1 draws with veteran side Gloucester Rangers, Orange FC and with TSS FC, served up a convincing win on Sunday when they hosted western side Shield FC. With scorers Victor, Desmond and Reon getting themselves onto the score sheet, the victory was an especially sweet one.
This was their 3rd win of the season and their double over Shield FC. The other win was a 4-2 victory against Ah Lam United on 21 Sep 2014.
With this win, and a combination of results that read 3 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss, REF, a team formed by a group of budding Chinese youths, accredited themselves with a 12 point tally on the table. The latest result also meant that they climb to 2nd spot behind leaders ACES United, who have yet to lose in the Division III, choking up 6 wins out of 7 games and drawing 1.
A 7 point difference may be hard for REF to play catch up. But with the current form of the men in white, they may well spring some surprises.
