Unbeaten in five games and sitting comfortably at the top of the table, things are looking rosy for Supernova FC. But their abilities and mettle will be put to the test this Friday as they face off against local futsal giants Touch N Go.
Supernova have been impressive so far this season, beating fellow title contenders Old Boys FC as they’ve stretched their winning streak to five games so far.
But they are not getting carried away with their form as they will be hoping that history does not repeat itself. Team captain Kaths emphasized how his team are keeping their feet on the ground despite their impressive form: “We were top of the table after winning five straight games in a league last year, but once our goalkeeper pulled out due to injury our form just went downhill and we finished in the relegation zone at the end of the season.”, citing poor mental strength as a reason for their downfall.
And their mental toughness will be put to the biggest test against one of the best Futsal teams in Singapore. Touch N Go who recently represented Singapore in the Tiger Street Football Tournament, lost their first game against OBFC but have bounced back immediately, showing the devastating form that makes them one of the most feared sides.
Bragging rights are up for grabs in this fixtures and it remains to be seen if Supernova will be able to hold their own against the big boys.
